How to keep them that way.
Shiny floors make an instant statement that “We Care”. Shiny floors are more inviting and visually appealing. And because they are shiny, whether your floors are concrete, terrazzo, vinyl, linoleum, VCT, or LVT, or natural stone, people (employees and customers) associate it with cleanliness. Are your floors getting dull, dingy or yellowing? There are many possible reasons you don’t have shiny floors anymore, but the biggest two reasons are abrasion and dulling due to the yellowing of acrylic wax or non-UV stable coatings.
What causes a floor to lose its shine?
Abrasion in any form, when you are talking about flooring; be it commercial, industrial or residential, is wearing. Everything and everyone that comes in contact with your floors causes abrasion over time. Regardless of the type or the money spent on your shiny floors, they are wearing. If not properly treated your shiny floors will eventually wear out.
Yellowing floors can be caused by a coating being non-UV stable, or not being chemical resistant. Some of the most basic things can cause yellowing, sunlight, cleaning chemicals, tracked in an outdoor residue. This can happen to concrete, terrazzo, VCT, Vinyl, LVT, and Linoleum.
