What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images on the website.
Online forms
When you complete and submit a form on this site, we collect all the data you enter and store it on our secure server.
We may ask for your name, telephone number, home address, email address, and age. When you make a purchase on our site, we also ask for your delivery address and payment method details. We collect information about you to help us develop and improve our services through online surveys and other requests.
Cookies
When you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies. We store these cookies for your convenience, so you won’t need to re-enter your details for future comments. These cookies remain active for one year. If you have an account and log in, we place a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie doesn’t store personal data and disappears when you close your browser. When you log in, we place several cookies to save your login details and screen display preferences. Login cookies stay active for two days, and screen preference cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” we keep your login active for two weeks. When you log out, we delete the login cookies.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on our site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles) from other websites. When you view this content, those websites may treat your visit as if you accessed their site directly. They may collect your data, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor how you interact with their content. If you have an account and stay logged in to those websites, they may also track your activity with the embedded content. Ultra Durable Technologies does not control how these websites collect information. We include links to them only when we believe they offer useful information to our visitors. Please review their privacy policies to understand how they collect and use your information.
Analytics
We use google analytics to collect analytic data about users of our website. No Analytics data is collected by our servers. Please review Google’s Privacy Statement for more information on how they use your data. https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en
Security Logs
We log the IP addresses of visitors, user IDs of logged-in users, and usernames from login attempts to detect malicious activity. We use this data to protect the site from specific types of attacks. We log information during actions such as login attempts, logout requests, suspicious URL requests, content changes, and password updates. We retain this information for 14 days.
Who we share your data with
We sometimes hire other companies to handle services such as credit card processing, shipping, email distribution, and promotions management. We share only the information they need to perform their tasks and require them to protect your privacy. Our contracts forbid these companies from using your information for their own marketing or sharing it with others. We do not share your information with third parties for marketing unless you give us permission. If the government requests it, a court orders it, or the law requires it, we may disclose specific information. We may also share information with companies that help us prevent or investigate fraud, but never for marketing or commercial purposes.
This site is scanned for potential malware and vulnerabilities by Sucuri’s SiteCheck. We do not send personal information to Sucuri; however, Sucuri could find personal information posted publicly (such as in comments) during their scan. For more details, please see Sucuri’s privacy policy.
How we retain your data
When you leave a comment, we retain the comment and its metadata indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
You can see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time (except for changing your username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
We retain security logs for 14 days.
What rights you have over your data
You can request that we export a file of your personal data, including any information you’ve provided to us. You can also ask us to erase your personal data, except for information we must keep for administrative, legal, or security reasons. To remove your personal information from our records, email us and include “Remove personal information” in the subject line.
Where we send your data
We may check visitor comments through an automated spam detection service. See the Analytics information above for details on collecting site usage data.
This site is part of a network of sites that protect against distributed brute force attacks. To enable this protection, we share IP address of visitors attempting to log into the site with a service provided by ithemes.com. For UDT privacy policy details, please see the iThemes Privacy Policy.
