EPIC® High-Performance Floor Finish

Introducing EPIC High-Performance Floor Finish

EPIC High-Performance Floor Finish is a water-based urethane that offers the ultimate rejuvenation and protection for vinyl floorings such as sheet vinyl, Vinyl Composite Tile (VCT), Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), and Linoleum. EPIC creates an impenetrable monolithic membrane that does not need to be stripped or buffed ever. What’s even better is that EPIC does not need to be recoated until 3-5 YEARS after the initial application, even in high-traffic areas!

EPIC provides incredible chemical and stain resistance, aids in waterproofing, and improves cleaning and maintenance procedures. Only water, aqueous ozone, and/or ionized water, and an auto scrubber or microfiber mop are needed to keep EPIC floors sparkling! Whether your vinyl flooring is old or new, one thin coat of EPIC will help eliminate and prevent scuffing, scratches, and wear-through.

Traditional acrylic finishes have suffered from a lack of durability across all flooring types. Even when applied to areas with a moderate amount of traffic, the average acrylic finish offers poor resistance to scratching and scuffing. This causes high-cost maintenance that involves repeated stripping, refinishing, and buffing.

If you have VCT, Vinyl, LVT and Linoleum flooring in your offices, schools, hospitals, or any other premises, you will find that EPIC not only provides a better-looking finish but that it also creates a stronger barrier to prevent surface damage. This beautiful finish will last a lot longer than any other coating, even in areas with high volumes of traffic. EPIC High-Performance Floor Finish will outlast traditional acrylics and will also deliver comparatively lower costs of ongoing maintenance. Acrylic waxes are now things of the past.

The benefits of using EPIC High-Performance Floor Finish include the following:

  • The choice of Gloss, Semi-Gloss, or Matte sheens.
  • Tough, long-lasting protective film that can withstand high traffic volumes.
  • The perfect alternative to acrylic finishes that requires no stripping or buffing (no buffing means a better indoor air quality, also known as IAQ).
  • Low-VOC water-based polyurethane.
  • Non-yellowing and resistant to UV light.
  • Extreme abrasion and chemical resistance.
  • Won’t degrade from frequent sanitizing.
  • Keeps “no-wax” floors wax-free!
  • Meets ADA and OSHA SCOF non-slip traction recommendations.
  • Non-slip traction can be enhanced using Ultra Grip and Abrasion resistant additives.
  • One-coat is all that is needed.

If your floors are coated in a traditional acrylic wax, strong sanitizers and disinfectants are weakening and destroying this so-called “protective layer.” Even sanitizer brands that are specifically designed for well-known acrylic waxes have a detrimental effect on multiple layers of wax (video and case study coming soon).

The recommended and required amount of time that a sanitizer should dwell (sit) on a surface to be effective ranges from 3-15 minutes. UDT’s experts have seen sanitizer destroy wax within minutes, meaning the full amount of dwell time would completely obliterate it.

Sanitizer wears down wax as well as whatever is left of its glossy appearance (the gloss retention of wax is not very impressive under any circumstances). This causes flooring to have a sticky, dull, and dirty appearance, which is ironic (considering sanitizers and cleaning routines are meant to have the opposite effect).

Luckily, EPIC’s water-based urethane formula is designed to be easily cleaned and maintained without any degrading. Sanitizers and cleaners are effective when used on EPIC, but they destroy germs and viruses rather than the coating itself. One thin coat of EPIC is more effective than 5 or more layers of traditional acrylic wax. Notice your floors are dulling when you try to make them shine? Maybe it is time to switch to EPIC High-Performance Floor Finish!
